2.4 Commitment issues

Gabby was doing a bit of work on the side and earned an additional three-hundred-and-twenty-five simoleons in addition to her usual wages. The family hosted their usual Sunday party and afterwards Gabby attempted a work out on the treadmill.

The bath tub broke on Dabney that morning and, with the two showers dripping, one of the bathroom sinks spraying and the dishwasher sparking, it had become apparent that everyone was too caught up in their own endeavours to fix anything themselves. Dabney called in a repairman and Abbey cheekily put out her laptop to see if Kirby Aguilera would fix that too.

After the party Cade started Dabney's portrait, who herself headed to the library to start an article.

Abbey headed to the beach and enjoyed the afternoon sun before heading to work and Baby invited Clinton out to Maywood Glen, where the two of them shared their first kiss.

A loud and crazy sim barged into the office and demanded that the place be shut down due to bad reporting but with a sleek silver tongue Dabney was able to talk them down and the Anonymous Source Handler felt both more charismatic and respected once the incident was over. She headed to the book store after the day's excitement, to collect the family's earnings, and then to the library, where she finished her article, "Political Aspirations of City Hall Aides".

Cade invited Ari to visit and started work on Gabby's portrait. He felt it was the piece that tipped him over into being a premier painter and once completed it was a masterpiece.

Baby knew that Clinton was already in a relationship but she still felt betrayed that he hadn't ended it with Corrie yet and accused him of cheating when he visited after her shift at work.

Abbey headed to the beach to fish and, despite the lack of space now in front of the stereo, Gabby did a strength training work out.

Gabby worked hard throughout her shift and, despite feeling stressed out, by the end of it she was promoted to Bag Woman. Going home, sleeping, and completing her waking routine she returned to the treadmill for another work out.

Graciela thought Dabney's article was good, but not great, despite the fact that the publisher had declared it a hit. Dabney wasn't too concerned though, she and the Editor now had a better relationship and from the work she put into the article Dabney could already feel her job performance improve. She headed straight home after work to collect the complimentary copies of her novels she had been sent.

Baby was offered a position as Gene Therapist and a career in medicine but she continued to decline the hospital's offers. Still healing from the previous day's incident with Clinton, she headed to Recurve Strand after work to catch a Trilobite Beetle.

Cade decided it was time to see if the science lab could bring Mum back from the dead and while she came back as a ghost Cade thought that was good enough with which to paint a portrait.

Abbey headed to the beach again, hoping to catch a new species of perfect fish.

Lorie Wynn fled the scene of her attempted burglary without any loot, thanks to the burglar alarm, but not before she beat Baby, policeman Nigel Wheat, and Cade in a fight.

After writing a wonderfully insightful story, Dabney won the Simitzer Prize for great reporting and, after a promotion to Investigative Reporter, she headed to City Hall to donate her books.

Emily was called by a teacher and her class at the local school who were having a bake sale. They wanted Emily's help and asked that she bring in two group servings of cookies for them. After inviting Annmarie to visit she spent most of her day at the library, hoping to touch up on her cooking skills.

Cade had hoped to start Mum's portrait but, with her out for the day, instead settled in front of the TV with Anna, who Abbey had invited around that morning. Abbey herself spent some time with Anna before fishing at the beach again.

Baby spent some time with her guest, Nadia, and headed out to catch a Rainbow Butterfly. After everything that had happened she decided that she wasn't interested in fixing her relationship with Clinton and so met him at the restaurant to ask if they could just be friends. She couldn't hide the sorrow from her face and spent the evening on the treadmill.

Gabby's plans were disrupted by the burglar, Baby's use of the treadmill and a developed hunger, so, while she didn't do anything of special note that day, she did tidy up a little.

Kirby's fixes didn't last very long, both showers and the bath tub resumed their puddle making and, while the dishwasher managed, the kitchen sink could no longer cope, so, after arranging Cade's birthday party, Abbey called in another repairman.

The Editor wanted Dabney to befriend Billy Andrade for an upcoming front page story and Baby was promoted to Genetic Resequencer but the afternoon was taken up with entertaining the guests for Cade's celebration.

Emily caught up with Louise and, having seen how much she'd changed since her passing, the elder Smith set about training Louise on the treadmill, mid-party.

Dabney chatted with Ignacio about the latest game at the stadium and Gabby made small talk with Sandi about the weather.

With Emily's resurrection the science lab were looking for more test subjects and offered Abbey a glimpse of the after life. Even though Emily was proof of what could be achieved, out of curiosity Abbey agreed to bring in the remains of a loved one. She spent the day fishing at her old haunt, Summer Hill Springs.

Dabney was asked to become more logical and, once she could prove it, asked to report into the science lab. At work she was taking a break out back when she saw a sketchy-looking sim badgering one of her co-workers, she quickly put her photography skills to use and scared the bad guy into leaving. In gratitude she received a bouquet of roses made of simoleons. She completely forgot about befriending Billy until she had already decided to head to the library to read about being charismatic but she decided that knowing how to make a charming introduction, thanks to her reading, would be advantageous to meeting Mr Andrade anyway.

Baby spent her day performing independent experiments and when one was a success she immediately felt her work improve. Her commitment issues were playing with her though, she couldn't seem to stick with her decision and meet up with Clinton at Central Park, hoping for another date. She met him behind the toilets, just as though they were teenagers sneaking out, but Clinton's lack of interest was clearly evident and Baby decided to cut her losses and put aside all wishes of romance with him.

Cade spent some more time painting, he was still hoping to capture Mum's portrait but she went out again after catching up with her guest Octavia, this time to the book store to pick up a recipe for cookies.

Gabby was looking forward to choosing the direction her career would take and worked out on the treadmill for another day.

Deric the Rainbow Trout, Greg the Siamese Catfish, Scotty the Black Goldfish, Trenton the Tuna, Linda the Salmon, Anton the Blowfish, Trenton the Minnow, Abbey liked the name Trenton, Tiffany the Goldfish, Katy the Red Herring, Beth the Jellyfish, Corrie the Alley Catfish, Cheryl the Crocodile and Buck the Anchovy were all given new homes that morning and as Abbey herself was heading off to a new home it was a day for family, no house party. While she wondered how Baby would handle the responsibility of being the eldest in the house Abbey wanted to start her own family.

Everyone spent time together, Dabney asked Abbey about her new house and if it had a book shelf, Cade couldn't help but bore Emily with talk about dirty dishes and Emily couldn't help but scare him. Amongst the hugs and other conversations Gabby told Dabney about a new composer she'd come across.

Once Abbey had gathered her belongings and the car pulled away everyone settled back into their own endeavours. Emily read her recipe book for cookies and Gabby worked out on the treadmill.

Dabney located Billy and was so charming they quickly became friends and she successfully interviewed him for the front page piece.

Baby invited Siddhartha Burke around but ended up having a drink on her own. It didn't take long for the isolation from her twin to get to her. While Abbey and Baby weren't close Baby now felt alone, especially after all that had happened with Clinton and she found herself chatting online, finding out who was single.

Cade headed to the library, he had driven himself stir crazy again and again hoped that reading about how to cook would help. While there he witnessed Nadia's death, another loss to Baby, not only in a best friend but also as the opportunity had now passed by to deliver Miss Lockett the fresh home-grown ingredients she needed for a special recipe, if only Baby had known how special that recipe would prove to be.
