1.3 Fair time flirting

The following day Emily invited Lane over, they spent their fair time flirting but otherwise didn't do all that much.

Emily was promoted to vice squad having chosen to enter the special agent branch of law enforcement. Working hard to earn her promotion had her stressed out though so she headed to Sharma Day Spa for a manicure. Feeling better about herself she headed to the gym next to try and earn that "Pumped" feeling she had heard about.

At work Justine got into trouble again, of course Emily helped her out, but she was upset that she lost Hank as a friend from doing so. Wanting to repair the damage, Emily headed to Central Park to question the locals in order to write up some rather needed reports.

Out of no where, it seemed, Emily's birthday arrived. She celebrated with her closest friends but now really was time to get down to business. Her romantic interest in Lane hadn't developed, he may have been thinking about engagement but he never made a move. Emily decided that she didn't need a husband though, just a child. The party was epic but Emily was focused on the double bed she felt she was very much in need of now, her biological clock was ticking.

Emily had no luck at Central Park in convincing anyone to allow her to question them for her next report.

Argyle Sinclair was back in town and Emily had neglected her logic for a while so decided to visit Divisadero Budget Books to see if Argyle could re-inspire her. In the mean time she headed to Hogan's Deep-Fried Dinner in hopes of winning the eating competition. Emily couldn't remember ever being so stuffed but somehow she'd won the prize.

Every day Emily had a different uniform for work. It lead her to wonder just how many lab technicians she'd met really worked for the science facility and how many ballot counters really worked for City Hall. The scouting agent for the local pro-sport franchise offered Emily a job as a rookie in the professional sports career but, enjoying the variety the police department offered, Emily chose to stay where she was. She had been bemused by the law enforcement beeper she had acquired until she was called in, off duty, to examine some new evidence, stuck at the book store she didn't make it straight there but having finished work for the second time that day she did so as a business woman.

Emily was promoted to undercover specialist and bought her double bed with the money. Sandi French was not enjoying her weight training but exercise had become a welcome addition to Emily's daily routine.

All that time spent with Lane seemed an entire waste, he was not interested in trying for a baby. Feeling dejected, Emily painted in her bedroom, in the dark, because she couldn't afford the light fixture yet. He had told her she was extremely irresistible but his commitment issues still got in the way, it wasn't as though she were asking him to be her boyfriend, she just wanted a baby. Maybe that was the problem, maybe she shouldn't have been so eager to throw away the relationship for the sake of a child. Emily tried again. All of a sudden she had herself a boyfriend, and prospects for a family, Lane may have never proposed but perhaps she should be the one to do so? Evening came and Emily headed back to the gym, wanting to reach the next athletic level.

  1. Awww! Poor Emily. I hope she meets someone that will help her get her wish! Okay, since this is a legacy story I'm pretty sure she will. But still... D:

  2. Yeah, Lane's a bit of a pain, but Emily won't be young forever.
