1.7 Laid to rest

Lane was laid to rest under a bench, engraved with his name, at Papyrus Memorial Library. Emily reflected in front of the easel, she still had five unique children to help grow up. With no fridge and no wash facilities at home, 28 Hour Wellness Gym was still an essential part of daily routine and so also became the use of a baby sitting service. Emily tried to have the children in as good a mood as possible before leaving them to Joy Summers, feeding Cade and encouraging Abbey and Baby to find ways to entertain themselves. Emily wasn't able to bring herself to have a party for Dabney and Gabby, instead they had a private celebration.

"I like this one." Cade thought as Joy came to take him from his cradle. Emily invited Miraj Alvi to visit, he offered a shoulder to cry on and was good with the toddlers while Emily ran what seemed like a marathon. She felt like a fitness nut leaving her children to Miraj like that, but it helped get the mourning out of her system and she tried to justify it to herself by taking into consideration the fact that she had taught Cade how to walk that morning. After school Abbey went to the old Goth house to do some fishing, she was meant to be following a school friend home. Baby went hunting for rocks, the first one she collected was much bigger than her fist. Dabney and Gabby were not forgotten.

"Take that hand!" Cade thought as Emily headed to the stadium after her cereal to cash in on having worked out to fatigue. On her return she taught Dabney how to talk, her first word was "Camera" while Gabby and Cade competed on who could pull their doll's head off the fastest. Abbey thought she'd try and catch up on sleep on one of the school's playground benches and Baby went to visit Bobby, she didn't realise that her school buddy was a teenager.

Between herself and Joy, Emily managed to stay on top of Dabney and Gabby's needs. Abbey was given an assignment to write a paper on the local supermarket. Abbey, Baby and Cade all grew up and Emily was called in to the police department towards the end of the party to examine some new evidence. She had every intention of retiring the following day, she was just so close to promotion that she thought it'd be better to retire on the funds of her new position than that she was currently on. Abbey was rather apprehensive about taking the step into teen-hood.

"You're not Joy" Dabney thought and Gabby was watching her like a cat when she was playing with the doll's house while she was suspended away from it. For Emily it was her last day of work and the local pro-sports franchise were still after her, she declined the offer. She might not be able to support the family as well on her retirement cheques but at least she would be able to dedicate her time to them. She couldn't do it, now a triple agent she was so close to the top of her career, "Just let me reach the top, then I'll retire" she thought. Baby headed to Central Park in hopes of catching a bug, but having no luck she headed to Papyrus Memorial Library to finish a book instead. Not knowing of Emily's decision to continue work, just a bit longer, Abbey decided to get a part-time job to help the family pay the bills. She headed out to Pleasant Rest Graveyard, hoping that a job there would involve lots of outdoor work. Cade was asked to come into school to clean out the bug cage and there was quite a bit of bug muck but the classroom smelt better by the time he was done.

While Mason Mulligan took care of Dabney and Gabby, Emily was informed that exercising with a quick burst could help her wrap up a short but effective work out so she endeavoured to try it for herself. The ever-evil and mysterious leader of the criminal organisation claimed to have a super weapon ready to be activated at the Outstanding Citizen Warehouse Corp. Announcing it ahead of time gave Emily the chance to deactivate it before it was too late. Cade volunteered to take the rubbish out for the teachers and found himself stuck inside the rubbish bin. Baby headed to Bobby Wolff's after school at least, that was the intention, while Thornton came out to talk to her, she wasn't invited inside. Cade went to the art museum and decided that his lifetime wish was to be an illustrious author, first though, he needed something to eat and a shower, he was rather smelly. Abbey fixed the dishwasher before her first day of work.

The weekend party was a modest success. Afterwards, Emily worked out for a quick strength burst using the stereo while Abbey took cake of Dabney. Cade and Gabby were playing up in their own manner while Baby was reading "Demand Excellence or You'll Get Mediocrity" quietly in the children's room. When bed time came around Dabney pondered upon the Thief-Tech's Gotcha! Burglar Alarm.

Current score: 2

  2. Thank you :) it's tricky to keep everyone happy in a house with so little in the way of furnishings.
