1.8 Sleeping off the excitement

Their sleep interrupted, Abbey decided to start a work out using the treadmill and Baby started teaching Dabney how to walk. Before Dabney and Gabby's birthday party, Emily received a call from the owner of the local theatre who asked if Emily would come in to help manage the crowds expected for upcoming events. Dabney eyed her cake suspiciously but Gabby was not deterred. Stuffed full of cake Emily headed to Wilsonoff Community Theatre, hoping that her cake-induced bulk would only be an advantage. Baby choose not to do anything too active and finished her painting and the other children followed her lead, Abbey doing her homework in hopes of earning an A, Gabby opting to play chess with an acquaintance in the park, Cade attending a movie and Dabney sleeping off the excitement of the party.

Cade had become so engrossed in his painting that he was late to school. Baby's completion of reading her school book gave her a boost to work towards the excellence it called out for, including the catching of Monarch butterflies. Abbey was asked to deliver fish to Landgraab Industries Science Facility to aid with the partnership the school and the facility had going. After work, Emily decided to visit the quiet Maywood Glen to play some chess and hopefully improve her logic for her job. Gabby likewise headed to a park to play chess. Cade headed to Papyrus Memorial Library and followed his father's footsteps in writing his first fiction novel in his father's favourite seat. Dabney visited Louise Abrams and spent a long while playing tag in the garden before she decided that she really ought to get her homework done, she would have much rather be reading with the Abrams.

At school Abbey was asked to fix the boiler which had begun to break down, Baby was asked to do the same and it was Cade's turn on the rota for cleaning the classroom bug cage. Gabby was asked to write a paper on a local business, her pigtails flew behind her as she left the Supermarket that same day and the mayor, promoting a new initiative to improve grades and school performance, offered Dabney a cash reward for making it onto the honour roll but after school Louise came home with her and Dabney couldn't neglect her guest. At work Emily was asked to read "Keep 'Em Guessing". Abbey went home with Bobby that afternoon, before work, and Baby visited the new family at the old Goth household. As she settled in for dinner the luxurious surroundings brought a smile to her face.

The shower broke that morning and, while Emily mopped up the water puddling on the floor with a rotated centre square and four contrasting rotated square tiles, Abbey went about fixing it. Once the puddles were all mopped up Emily headed for the quiet of Maywood Glen again to practice some chess until she had to head home to set up Cade's birthday party. Baby introduced herself properly to Aron Dotson, the friend she travelled home with the previous day. Dabney was full of thoughts of things she wanted to speak to Louise about and in the end she settled on how Abbey had fixed the shower to start with. Gabby, meanwhile listened to Morgana talk about the moon.

Poor criminals would have no idea what was coming their way with Emily having finished reading her book and she earned a healthy raise and a promotion to International Super Spy for her efforts. She then headed to the Sekemoto's and watched Sam play his guitar. Gabby was on rota for cleaning the bug cage but having taken the time to clean it the classroom smelt better. The School Writing Club was looking for new authors to join their ranks and, as he was planning to do so anyway, Cade agreed to look into writing. Abbey and Baby fixed the boiler and, with two heads being better than one, things were back to normal boiler-wise. Abbey, Baby and Gabby played in the playground but when Abbey was on the slide when Gabby wanted to have a turn Gabby started to scheme about Abbey's burial. Dabney was, safe, visiting Louise.

The Writing club was pleased to see that Cade went to the efforts of working on his writing. With new copies of "Demand Excellence or You'll Get Mediocrity" provided to the school Abbey was asked by the teacher to take a copy herself in preparation for her post-school career, she agreed but that evening set about fixing the dishwasher instead. Baby herself decided to reread the book she had been given by the teacher and, having discovered that today's discount classes were athletic, Cade painted at home. With the weekend upon them, and having reached the top of her career, Emily decided it was time to retire. Gabby trapped her first insect, a Red Admiral Butterfly and Dabney headed to the Abrams' again.

With her focus now solely her children, Emily decided to host a party for all their friends their age. Emily wasn't sure what to make of Cade asking Annmarie if she were single only to sit down, in the middle of the party, to do his homework and, while it seemed the hot topic was food, Baby chatted with Aron about movies. With the epic party over, Emily headed to the library to check the real estate and Baby followed her there. Abbey started reading her school book, hoping she'd finish reading it before she had to head out for work. Cade completed his first large painting, valued at 76 simoleons. Gabby decided to visit the graveyard, in want of seeing a ghost and Dabney went to visit Louise again, having not had the chance to speak to her properly during the party after an engaging conversation with Ignacio O'Donnell.
